JERICHO, January 22, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation authorities demolished a house in the town of Deir al-Dik, west of Jericho, on Thursday. They also demolished a barracks and issued a demolition order for another structure east of the city.
WAFA correspondent, citing security sources, reported that occupation forces, accompanied by bulldozers, stormed Deir al-Dik and demolished a house belonging to a Jerusalemite resident, claiming it lacked a permit.
The sources added that the occupation forces also demolished a barracks belonging to the Abu Jarar factory and issued a demolition order for another structure belonging to the Sinqrat palm grove, east of Jericho.
According to a report by the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, the occupation authorities carried out a total of 538 demolition operations during the past year, which resulted in the demolition of 1,400 structures, including 304 inhabited homes and 74 uninhabited homes, in addition to 270 economic facilities and 490 agricultural facilities, concentrated in the governorates of Hebron, Jerusalem, Ramallah, Tubas and Nablus.
