Five Palestinians injured in Israeli assault south of Hebron

HEBRON, January 21, 2026 (WAFA) — Five Palestinian citizens were injured on Wednesday after being beaten and abused by Israeli occupation forces in the southern area of Hebron, according to local sources.

WAFA correspondent said Israeli forces, heavily deployed in the southern part of the city, assaulted five citizens as they were leaving their homes to purchase basic food supplies, after the forces briefly lifted a curfew that had been imposed on residents for three days. The assault resulted in fractures and bruises, and the injured were transferred to hospital for treatment.

Israeli occupation forces have been carrying out a military offensive for the third consecutive day in the Jabal Jawhar neighborhood and the southern area Hebron, enforcing a tight siege and curfew, raiding homes, abusing residents, and carrying out widespread detentions.
