GAZA, January 21, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli forces continued on Wednesday their violations of the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, demolishing residential buildings and shelling various areas in the north and south of the Strip.
Israeli forces demolished several residential buildings east of Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza Strip, coinciding with artillery shelling that targeted areas east of Khan Younis and the Bureij refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip.
In a related development, medical sources reported this morning that several Palestinians were wounded when Israeli warships targeted the Rafah beach in the southern Gaza Strip.
Since the ceasefire came into effect in October 2025, approximately 1,820 Palestinians have been killed or wounded as a result of 1,300 violations committed by the occupation.
This brings the total number of Palestinians killed in the Israeli offensive on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, to 71,551, with 171,372 wounded.
