Israeli forces demolish home in southern Hebron amid heavy military measures

HEBRON, January 20, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces demolished a Palestinian house in the southern area of the occupied West bank city of  Hebron.

The head of the Birin village council, Farid Barqan, told WAFA that Israeli troops, who have tightened their military control over the southern part of the city, demolished a 250-square-meter house in Khirbet al-Aida, owned by Karama Jaber. The 10 residents were forced to leave without being able to take their belongings.

For the second consecutive day, soldiers have continued to deploy large military reinforcements in the area for the second consecutive day. The escalation included the closure of most main and secondary roads, separating neighborhoods with earth mounds and concrete blocks, and carrying out widespread raids and searches of homes and shops.

Dozens of residents were also subjected to field interrogations, while significant damage was inflicted on the area’s infrastructure
