Weather: Very cold conditions, partially cloudy skies

RAMALLAH, January 20, 2026 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD) said that the country will be affected today, Tuesday, by a high-pressure system accompanied by a very cold, polar air mass. The weather will be partly cloudy to clear, with no change in temperatures. It will be cold to very cold, with frost expected in large areas of the country. Winds will be northeasterly to southeasterly, light to moderate, becoming more active during the night. Sea waves will be low.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, the weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy, with no significant change in temperatures. It will remain cold to very cold, especially in the mountainous areas. Winds will be southeasterly to easterly, brisk with occasional strong gusts. Sea waves will be low.

On Thursday, the weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy with a noticeable rise in temperatures, though it will remain relatively cool, especially in mountainous areas. Scattered light rain is possible in some areas during the night. Winds will be southeasterly, shifting to southwesterly in the evening, and will be moderate. Sea waves will be low to moderate.

The PMD warned of the risk of slippery roads in areas experiencing rainfall today, and of reduced horizontal visibility due to fog formation.

It also warned citizens and farmers of the risk of frost and freezing in large parts of the country during Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, and of the risk of slippery roads.
