Israeli forces evict family from home in order to seize it near Tubas

TUBAS, January 19, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation authorities forced a family from the village of Atouf, southeast of Tubas, to leave their home on Monday to make way for a colonial road.

Moataz Bisharat, the official in charge of the Jordan Valley file in the Tubas Governorate, reported that occupation forces forcibly evicted the Yassin Rashaydeh family of six from their home, claiming it was necessary to construct a colonial road on land belonging to the villages of Tammoun and Atouf.

He added that this road is part of the plan to establish a new colony in the area, one of 19 colonies the occupation intends to build in the West Bank.

Last December, the occupation forces announced their intention to establish 19 new colonies in the West Bank, one of which is planned for Palestinian-owned land in Tammoun and Atouf.

The occupation forces have also recently targeted the area with several colonial projects, including the "Crimson Thread" project, announced in late November 2025. This project consists of a 22-kilometer-long military road and annexation wall, extending from the village of Ein Shibli to the Tayasir military checkpoint.
