Weather: Very cold conditions, partially cloudy skies

Ramallah, January 19, 2026 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD) said that weather today will be cloudy to partly cloudy and cold to very cold, with a chance of scattered rain in some areas during the day. Temperatures will remain unchanged. Winds will be southwesterly to northwesterly, moderate, occasionally becoming brisk. Sea waves will be low to moderate.

In the evening and night, the weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy and very cold due to the country being affected by a very cold polar air mass. Frost and freezing conditions are expected in large areas. Winds will be northwesterly to northeasterly, moderate. Sea waves will be low to moderate.

The country will be affected tomorrow by a high-pressure system accompanied by a very cold, polar air mass. The weather will be partly cloudy to clear with no change in temperatures. It will be cold to very cold, and frost is expected in large areas. Winds will be northeasterly to southeasterly, light to moderate, becoming more active during the night. Sea waves will be low.

On Wednesday, the weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy with little change in temperatures, remaining cold to very cold, especially in mountainous areas. Winds will be southeasterly to easterly, brisk with occasional strong gusts. Sea waves will be low.

Thursday's weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy with a noticeable rise in temperatures. It will remain relatively cold, especially in mountainous areas. There is a chance of light, scattered rain in some areas during the night. Winds will be southeasterly, shifting to southwesterly in the evening, and will be moderate. Sea waves will be low to moderate.

The PMD warned of the risk of slippery roads in areas experiencing rainfall today, due to reduced horizontal visibility caused by fog.

It also warned citizens and farmers of the risk of frost and freezing conditions across large parts of the country during Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, as well as the risk of slippery roads.
