RAMALLAH, January 18, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces seized a vehicle at the entrance to Al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah, on Sunday evening, after setting up a flying checkpoint in the area.
Local sources told WAFA that the occupation forces forced passengers out of vehicles and searched them before seizing one of the cars. This happened amidst cold weather and rain, in a deliberate attempt to obstruct the movement of citizens and disrupt their travel.
The sources added that this action comes within the context of an escalation by the occupation against the town. Earlier that day, occupation forces stormed Al-Mughayyir, raided a mourning tent for a martyr, and assaulted those present, sparking anger and tension among the residents.
They indicated that since midday, the occupation forces have carried out extensive raids on the town, including storming the homes of several residents and conducting field interrogations, amidst a heavy deployment of occupation soldiers in the village and its surrounding areas.
The Israeli occupation continues its escalation against citizens in towns and villages northeast of Ramallah, through flying checkpoints and daily raids, as part of a policy of harassment and collective punishment.
