SALFIT, January 18, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces intensified their military restrictions in the western area of Salfit province in the central West Bank on Sunday, setting up checkpoints and restricting the movement of Palestinians.
Local sources told WAFA that a military checkpoint was established at the entrance to Deir Ballut town, with another near Qarawat Bani Hassan, causing traffic congestion and obstructing the daily movement of citizens.
The forces also raided the village of Haris and the towns of Biddya and Qarawat Bani Hassan. No detentions were reported.
These measures come amid ongoing Israeli military escalation in the Salfit governorate, which includes daily restrictions on Palestinians’ freedom of movement and access to their communities.
