JENIN, January 18, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces detained a journalist early Sunday in the town of Deir Abu Da’if, east of Jenin, according to local sources.
The Palestinian Prisoner’s Society in Jenin reported that Israeli forces detained 44-year-old Farouq Omar Qassem Elayat after raiding and searching his home.
Elayat is a former prisoner who has been imprisoned several times by Israeli forces, most recently in 2016. He is a father of three children.
