QALQILYA, January 18, 2026 (WAFA) — A Palestinian child was lightly injured at dawn on Sunday as Israeli occupation forces raided the city of Qalqilya, in the occupied West Bank, and the nearby town of Azzun, east of the city.
Local sources told WAFA that Israeli forces stormed Qalqilya with several military vehicles through its main eastern entrance and deployed in the Kafr Saba neighborhood and the Al-Qaraan area. The forces fired live ammunition indiscriminately, causing a child to be hit by shrapnel. The injury was described as minor.
The sources added that the forces also fired stun grenades and tear gas canisters toward homes, leading to cases of suffocation among residents.
Meanwhile, Israeli forces raided the town of Azzun for about two hours, patrolling several neighborhoods, including the Al-Safha area, where they stormed and searched a number of homes.
