RAMALLAH, January 17, 2026 (WAFA) — At least two Palestinians were injured, and several homes and vehicles were set on fire on Saturday evening in a wide-scale attack by Israeli colonists on the Bedouin community of Khallet al-Sidra, near the town of Mikhmas, northeast of Jerusalem.
Local sources reported that colonists launched an assault on the community, firing live ammunition, attacking residents, and setting fire to several homes and vehicles.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society stated that its teams responded to two injuries resulting from the assault on civilians near Mikhmas.
This attack is part of a growing series of settler-led assaults, carried out under the protection of Israeli occupation forces, targeting Palestinian residents and their property in the area, with the goal of forcibly displacing them from their land.
In recent years, attacks by Israeli colonists on Palestinian communities in the occupied West Bank have risen significantly. These incidents often involve arson, stone-throwing, armed assaults, and the destruction of homes, farmland, and vehicles, frequently occurring with the presence or protection of Israeli occupation forces.
Human rights organizations report that this violence is used as a deliberate tactic to intimidate residents, limit their access to land, and force Palestinian families to leave strategically important areas, especially those near settlements and outposts.
