RAMALLAH, January 16, 2026 (WAFA) — Israeli colonists escalated their attacks on Friday in the southern areas of the village of Al-Mughayyir, east of Ramallah, opening fire and storming grazing lands under the protection of Israeli occupation forces, which also detained a number of international solidarity activists.

Local sources said colonist herders intruded into the al-Khalayel area south of the village and fired live ammunition in the vicinity in a repeated assault targeting residents and their property. The attack coincided with provocation and a direct assault by one of the herders against the Abu Hammam family in the area.

The sources added that Israeli police dispatched a patrol from a nearby colony toward the area, before Israeli forces raided the site after being summoned by colonists following their attack on the family.

In the same context, Israeli forces and police reinforced their presence in the al-Khalayel area and detained four international activists while they were attempting to document the attacks and support local residents.
