Israel issues halt on construction orders for 8 homes and agricultural structures near Hebron

HEBRON, January 15, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation authorities issued stop-work and demolition orders today for eight homes and agricultural structures in the Yatta area, south of Hebron.

Activist Osama Makhameh told WAFA that Israeli occupation forces raided the village of Umm Qussa in the Yatta area and issued stop-work and demolition orders for eight homes and agricultural structures belonging to Salameh, Musa, Mahmoud, Muhammad, Omar, and Abdullah Al-Athimin.

The Israeli occupation forces are escalating their policy of demolishing homes, harassing residents, and significantly preventing construction. Data from the Wall Resistance Commission indicates that a total of 538 demolitions were carried out, including 1,400 structures in 2025, an unprecedented increase within the framework of a systematic targeting of Palestinian construction and natural growth. These demolitions included 304 inhabited homes, 74 uninhabited homes, 270 livelihoods, and 490 agricultural facilities, concentrated in the governorates of Hebron, Jerusalem, Ramallah, Tubas, and Nablus.

The Commission also noted that the number of demolition notices issued to residents has risen to 991, with 276 notices issued in Hebron, 169 in Ramallah, and 124 each in Bethlehem and Jerusalem.
