Israeli forces detain 45 Palestinians from the West Bank

RAMALLAH, January 14, 2026 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS) reported that Israeli occupation forces arrested at least 45 Palestinians from the West Bank, including Jerusalem, between Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning.

In a statement, the PPS  said the detentions took place in the towns of Qabatiya, south of Jenin, Deir al-Hatab, east of Nablus, and Shuafat refugee camp, northeast of Jerusalem. The remaining detentions were distributed across the governorates of Tulkarm, Jericho, Hebron, and Salfit.

The statement added that the arrests and field interrogations were accompanied by systematic abuse and assaults against the detainees and their families, as well as the use of detainees as hostages and widespread destruction of Palestinian homes. It also noted that Israeli forces demolished the home of prisoner Ahmad Abu al-Rub in Qabatiya at dawn on Wednesday.

It is worth noting that the occupation authorities continue to carry out arrests, which constitute one of the most prominent and systematic policies they implement daily against Palestinian citizens. These detentions have targeted all segments of Palestinian society, with the number of arrests in the West Bank since the genocidal war reaching approximately 21,000.
