SALFIT, January 13, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces began demolishing a house in the town of Kafr ad-Dik, west of Salfit, on Tuesday.
Local sources told WAFA that Israeli bulldozers stormed the area between the towns of Bruqin and Kafr ad-Dik and began demolishing the two-story house of Sharif Fathi Ali Ahmad. The family had been forced to evacuate the house several months ago.
According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, Israeli occupation authorities carried out a total of 538 demolitions in 2025, targeting 1,400 structures – an unprecedented increase – as part of a systematic targeting of Palestinian construction and natural growth. These demolitions included 304 inhabited homes, 74 uninhabited homes, 270 livelihoods, and 490 agricultural facilities. The demolitions were concentrated in the governorates of Hebron, Jerusalem, Ramallah, al-Bireh, Tubas, the northern Jordan Valley, and Nablus.
Meanwhile, the number of demolition and stop-work notices issued by the occupation to citizens rose to 991, concentrated in the governorates of: Hebron with 276, Ramallah and Al-Bireh with 169, and Bethlehem and Jerusalem with 124 each, which indicates the targeting of more Palestinian construction under the pretext of lacking licenses.
