JERUSALEM, January 12, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces raided on Monday the Shufat refugee camp, northeast of occupied East Jerusalem, according to local sources.
They said that a large convoy of army vehicles stormed the refugee camp, and the soldiers deployed in the alleyways and fired barrages of tear gas canisters and concussion grenades.
The soldiers broke into several homes and assaulted the families, but without detaining anyone.
In the Ramallah governorate, the sources confirmed a raid in Beitunia town, where the soldiers unleashed barrage of tear gas canisters and concussion grenades.
In the Bethlehem governorate, an army force barged its way into Beit Fajjar town, deployed in several neighborhoods, and opened fire towards inhabitants.
No injuries were reported in any of the raids.
The occupation forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost daily across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.
These raids are conducted without the need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses, in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.
Under Israeli military law, army commanders have full executive, legislative, and judicial authority over 3 million Palestinians living in the West Bank. Palestinians have no say in how this authority is exercised.
