GAZA, January 9, 2026 (WAFA) — The number of Palestinians killed and injured in the Israeli occupation’s ongoing assault on the Gaza Strip has risen to 71,409 dead and 171,304 wounded since October 2023, according to medical sources.
Local health authorities reported on Friday that over the past 24 hours, 14 Palestinians were killed and 17 others injured in the continued Israeli attacks, while a number of victims remain trapped under rubble or on the streets, with medical and rescue teams still unable to reach them.
Since the ceasefire on October 11, 2023, the death toll in Gaza has reached 439, with 1,223 injuries recorded. Rescue teams have recovered 688 bodies to date.
