GAZA, January 8, 2026 (WAFA) — Six Palestinian civilians were killed and others injured on Thursday evening after Israeli warplanes bombed a house in Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza and a warehouse and home in Gaza City, bringing the death toll across the Gaza Strip since dawn to 15, including five children.
WAFA correspondent reported that Israeli fighter jets struck a house belonging to the Al-Majdalawi family in Block C of Nuseirat camp, killing two civilians and injuring others. Warplanes also targeted a warehouse and a house in the Asqula area of Al-Zeitoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City, killing four civilians and wounding several others.
The correspondent added that Israeli warplanes carried out airstrikes on Deir al-Balah and on a house in Al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza, while Israeli artillery shelled Al-Sekka Street in the Al-Zeitoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City.
Earlier on Thursday, four civilians, including three children, were killed when an Israeli drone strike hit a tent sheltering displaced people on Street 5 in the Al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis, south of the Gaza Strip.
The victims were identified as brothers Abdullah and Omar Al-Hussein Al-Abadla and Layan Omar Abu Shaqra. Another civilian, Saleh Abdullah Al-Qassas, was killed after an Israeli drone dropped a bomb on a group of people in the Sheikh Nasser area east of Khan Younis.
In the same area, Kamal Abdul Rahman Mohammad Awad, 43, was killed and three others were injured, including critically, after Israeli forces targeted a tent near the Al-Attar area in Al-Mawasi. A Palestinian was also killed and others injured when Israeli drones struck a tent sheltering displaced people west of Faisal Tower, south of Al-Zawayda in central Gaza.
In northern Gaza and Gaza City, 11-year-old Hamsa Nedal Housso was killed by Israeli gunfire in the Al-Faluja area west of Jabalia refugee camp. Another was also killed and four others injured after Israeli forces shelled Abu Hussein School, which shelters displaced people in Jabalia camp.
Meantime, three civilians were injured when Khalifa School in the Beit Lahia project area was targeted, while another civilian sustained serious injuries after Israeli military vehicles opened fire near the Kuwait Junction east of the Al-Zeitoun neighborhood in Gaza City.
