HEBRON, January 8, 2026 (WAFA) — Israeli colonists on Thursday attacked Palestinian civilians in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, and smashed several of their mobile phones, according to local sources.

Media activist Osama Makhamereh said that a group of colonists assaulted members of the Al-Qudra family while they were on their land in the Al-Ali area, breaking five of their mobile phones and threatening them with gunfire.

He added that the colonists released their sheep onto the residents’ land, causing damage to crops.

Masafer Yatta, which comprises nearly 19 Palestinian hamlets south of Hebron, has witnessed a sharp increase in attacks by Israeli colonists in recent years, including assaults on residents, destruction of property, and damage to agricultural land, amid ongoing efforts to forcibly displace Palestinian communities from the area.
