Israeli forces begin demolishing two Palestinian homes in Nablus

NABLUS, January 8, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli forces began on Thursday demolishing two homes in the Upper Ta'awon neighborhood of Nablus.

According to security sources, Israeli soldiers, accompanied by three military bulldozers, stormed the Upper Ta'awon neighborhood and began demolishing two homes belonging to Ashraf Khattab and Laith Nael al-Abed.

Meanwhile, the homeowners had previously been served evacuation orders on December 12.

Last month, Israeli troops forced six families to evacuate their homes on Upper Ta'awon Street in Nablus in preparation for their demolition.

Al-Abed confirmed in a previous interview with WAFA that the homes, along with ten others, have been slated for demolition since 2021, each housing between two and four families.

He emphasized that, according to maps provided to the families, all the homes are located in areas classified as “B,” while Israeli authorities claim they fall within areas designated as “C.”  Israeli forces issued demolition notices  against several houses  notified a number of homes in the same area, under the pretext of building in areas classified as “C”.
