GAZA, January 6, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli forces detained five Palestinian fishermen off the coast of Gaza City on Tuesday morning, as they continue to violate the ceasefire agreement with renewed aerial and artillery bombardment targeting different areas across the Gaza Strip.
According to WAFA correspondents, Israeli navy opened gunfire on fishing boats off the coast of the Shati refugee camp in Gaza City, before detaining five fishermen.
Israeli warplanes have been carrying out airstrikes on residential buildings in Beit Lahia, in the northern Gaza Strip, since the early morning hours.
Meanwhile, Israeli fighter jets also launched multiple strikes on the Shuja'iyya neighborhood east of Gaza City and east of Deir al-Balah.
In the south, Israeli artillery shelling and gunfire also continue in the eastern areas of Khan Younis.
