Israel takes over large tract of Palestinian land in northern West Bank villages

JENIN, January 5, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation authorities on Monday took over a large tract of land belonging to the villagers of Fandaqumiya and Silat ad-Dhahr, southwest of Jenin, and Burqa, northwest of Nablus, according to the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission (CWRC).

The CWRC said that the occupation authorities seized 47 donums of land belonging to the three villages, expanding a former military order issued in December 2025 that expropriated 503 donums of land from the same villagers to construct a road that would link the formerly evacuated colonies of Homesh and Sanur with one another.

It added that the occupation authorities have recently issued 23 military orders expropriating Palestinian land in the northern West Bank, particularly in Tubas and Jenin governorates, to lay the groundwork for military infrastructure that would pave the way for the construction of new colonies in the area.
