JERUSALEM, January 4, 2026 (WAFA) – The Israeli occupation army closed, on Sunday evening, the entrances of the town of Hizma, northeast of occupied Jerusalem, according to local sources.
Sources told WAFA that Israeli forces closed the two iron gates installed at the town’s entrances, set up military checkpoints, and prevented vehicles from passing in both directions, causing traffic congestion.
In a related development, Israeli forces stormed the town of Birzeit, north of Ramallah, on Sunday evening. Security sources told WAFA that an occupation army unit stormed the town and deployed across several areas, with no detentions reported.
Meanwhile, Israeli forces closed most of the military checkpoints surrounding the cities of Ramallah and Al-Bireh, in addition to the entrances of several villages and towns across the governorate.
