GAZA, January 4, 2026 (WAFA) – Since early this morning, Israeli occupation forces have been carrying out widespread demolitions in various areas across the Gaza Strip, according to local sources.

Witnesses reported that a massive explosion rocked the eastern areas of Gaza City moments ago, where a residential block was blown up by the Israeli occupation military.

The Israeli military is conducting extensive demolitions in the eastern part of Gaza City, as well as in the northern and eastern areas of Khan Younis and Rafah, in a continued violation of the ceasefire agreement.

Since the ceasefire agreement came into effect on October 11, 2025, following over two years of relentless Israeli genocide, there have been multiple Israeli violations of the truce, including the killing of 421 Palestinians since then.

The ceasefire, which was supposed to allow for the delivery of humanitarian aid and a cessation of hostilities, has been repeatedly breached by Israel. These breaches have included airstrikes, ground attacks, and, most notably, and demolitions of civilian structures under the guise of security.
