JERICHO, January 2, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists attacked Palestinian citizens on Friday in the village of al-Jiftlik, located north of Jericho in the eastern occupied West Bank, according to local sources.

Eid Barahmeh, Director of the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society in Jericho, told WAFA that the colonists assaulted the Ka'abneh family, physically beating its members, before Israeli occupation forces stormed the area and detained two locals, Hassan Salem Ka'abneh and Mousa Odeh Ka'abneh.

In a related development, Israeli forces issued demolition orders for homes in al-Jiftlik, citing construction without Israeli-issued permits.
