HEBRON, January 1, 2026 (WAFA) – Armed Israeli colonists on Thursday demolished and stole two agricultural structures in the Masafer Yatta area, south of Hebron. Additionally, other colonists chased local residents and attempted to assault them in the nearby town of Beit Ummar, north of Hebron, according to local sources.
Activist Osama Makhamrah told WAFA that a group of armed colonists from the Israeli colony Havat Maon and the outpost Aschar Aman, which are built on Palestinian lands, demolished two agricultural structures in the area of Khallet Awad in Masafer Yatta. These structures belong to Ismail Makhamrah and his son Hassan, who had their equipment stolen along with the structures.
In the town of Beit Ummar, armed colonists attacked residents south of the town, preventing them from accessing their lands. The colonists had recently seized part of the town’s land in that area, setting up a mobile home and bringing livestock there just three days ago.
Local residents expressed concerns that this could be the beginning of the establishment of a new settlement outpost and the seizure of hundreds of dunums of their land.
