Israeli forces detain dozens, including former prisoners and minor, across Ramallah and Al-Bireh

RAMALLAH, January 1, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli forces detained dozens of Palestinians, mostly former prisoners, in several towns and villages in the Ramallah and al-Bireh governorate early Thursday morning. Among those detained was a child.

According to local sources, Israeli troops stormed the Jalazone refugee camp, raiding multiple homes and detaining eight Palestinians.

In Beitunia, west of Ramallah, the forces detained former prisoner Ahmed Harish from his home after blowing up the door and firing a gas grenade inside. They assaulted Harish and abused his brother, Muhammad, handcuffing him during the raid.

Israeli forces carried out a military raid in the al-Amari refugee camp, where thety detained a young man.

In the town of Deir Abu Mash'al, west of Ramallah, Israeli soldiers detained six Palestinians after raiding and searching their homes.

In the village of Abu Shkheidem, north of Ramallah, Israeli forces detained released prisoner Issa al-Badawi Shalalda. In the town of Nilin, Nizar Al-Khawaja and brothers Omar Talal Surur and Khaled Talal Surur were detained.

Meanwhile, Israeli troops conducted a military incursion targeting the village of Kobar, detaining three Palestinians.

In the town of Aboud, soldiers detained released prisoner Ibrahim Mahmoud Abdel Majid, 60, while in Al-Mazra’a Al-Gharbiyya, another former prisoner was detained.

Israeli forces also detained 16-year-old young man from the village of al-Mazra'a al-Qibliya (Mazra'a al-Nubani).

In the village of 'Arura, north of Ramallah, Israeli forces detained released prisoner Ahmad Ihsan Khasib during a raid on the village.

The detentions were accompanied by wide-scale raids and property vandalism.
