Foreign Ministry condemns Israel’s ban on 37 international humanitarian organizations

RAMALLAH, December 31, 2025 (WAFA) — The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned on Wednesday the arbitrary Israeli decision to cancel work permits for 37 international humanitarian organizations operating in the occupied Palestinian territories, particularly in the Gaza Strip.

In a statement, the ministry rejected Israel’s stated reasons for the ban, emphasizing that these organizations provide essential humanitarian, health, and environmental support to Palestinians, especially in Gaza, amid ongoing Israeli aggression, starvation tactics, and attacks on refugee camps in the West Bank.

The ministry stressed that Israel has no sovereignty over the occupied Palestinian territories, including Jerusalem, and that Palestine welcomes the work of internationally and nationally recognized organizations operating according to established humanitarian standards.

It described Israel’s actions as piracy, bullying, and a violation of international law and norms, including the International Court of Justice’s advisory opinion on Israel’s obligations toward humanitarian organizations.

The ministry added that Israel seeks to eliminate witnesses to its crimes and prevent institutions from supporting the Palestinian people, particularly in sectors such as child protection, health, education, water, and refugee assistance.

The ministry called on the international community and the United Nations to reject Israel’s measures and take punitive action to protect humanitarian work, preserve civil freedoms in Palestine, and safeguard the operations of national and international civil society organizations.

It also urged countries hosting these organizations to take firm steps against Israel for its violations of international law and human rights.
