GAZA, December 29, 2025 (WAFA) – Local sources in Gaza reported that 25 people, including six children, have died in the Gaza Strip due to severe weather conditions since the beginning of the current month of December.
Civil Defense and rescue teams said that, prior to the current month of December, the Gaza Strip had not experienced severe weather conditions marked by heavy rainfall, strong winds, and extreme cold.
They added that 18 residential buildings, previously damaged by Israeli shelling, collapsed completely as a result of severe weather conditions and heavy rainfall during the same period. More than 110 residential buildings also sustained dangerous partial collapses, posing a direct threat to the lives of thousands of citizens living in or around these buildings.
Meanwhile, 90 percent of displacement tents were blown away or flooded due to heavy rains and strong winds across various areas of the Gaza Strip, leaving thousands of families without temporary shelter and causing the loss of their limited belongings, including clothes, blankets, and bedding, further exacerbating their humanitarian suffering.
