Israeli forces detain at least 23 Palestinians during West Bank raids

RAMALLAH, December 24, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces on Wednesday detained at least 23 Palestinians during predawn raids across several areas in the occupied West Bank, accompanied by assaults, home invasions and vandalism.

In Jenin governorate, occupation forces detained five citizens from the town of Silat al-Harithiya, west of Jenin, after storming and searching their homes. Those detained included the fathers of a Palestinian killed by Israeli forces and of a detainee currently held in Israeli prisons.

In Salfit governorate, three young men were detained from the towns of Kifl Haris and Deir Istiya. Local sources said one of the detainees was injured during his detention.

In Qalqilya governorate, Israeli forces detained four citizens from the village of Jayyous, east of the city, including a former prisoner, after raiding and ransacking several homes.

In Bethlehem governorate, five citizens were detained from various areas, including Dheisheh and Aida refugee camps, the city of Beit Jala, and the Al-‘Ubeidiya area, following home raids and searches.

Meanwhile, in Nablus governorate, Israeli forces assaulted a 45-year-old woman during a raid on New Askar refugee camp, causing her bruises throughout her body. Medical crews provided her with treatment at the scene.

During incursions into the New and Old Askar refugee camps, Balata refugee camp, and the town of Beit Iba, Israeli forces detained six additional citizens after raiding their homes and vandalizing their contents.
