Israeli forces shoot Palestinian north of Jerusalem

JERUSALEM, December 22, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces on Monday evening shot a Palestinian civilian in al-Ram town, north of the occupied West Bank city of Jerusalem, according to the Jerusalem Governorate.

It said that the occupying forces opened fire in the course of confrontations in the town, injuring a civilian.

There was no immediate information about the severity of the injury.

The gun-toting soldiers set up a checkpoint in the town, stopping vehicles and inspecting passengers’ ID cards.

The occupation forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost daily across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.

These raids are conducted without the need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses, in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.

Under Israeli military law, army commanders have full executive, legislative, and judicial authority over 3 million Palestinians living in the West Bank. Palestinians have no say in how this authority is exercised.
