Israeli forces detain 17 Palestinians in West Bank raids

RAMALLAH, December 22, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces detained 17 Palestinians, including a minor, during raids across Ramallah and Al-Bireh, Tulkarm, Jenin, Qalqiliya, and Hebron. The operations involved home searches, property damage, assaults, road closures, and the establishment of military checkpoints.

In Ramallah and Al-Bireh, three young Palestinian men were detained in the village of Jifna and the Jalazone refugee camp north of Ramallah following home raids.

In Tulkarm, eight Palestinians were detained after Israeli forces carried out widespread raids in the eastern and western neighborhoods of Tulkarm city, including searches and vandalism of homes. Some of those detained were former prisoners.

In Jenin, three young men were detained after early-morning raids in the town of Arraba, which included home searches, a mosque raid, and turning a house into a military outpost. Several residents were also briefly detained during the military raid.

Also in Jenin, Israeli forces raided the village of al-Fandaqumiya, deploying vehicles across its streets. The raids prompted local authorities to delay school openings in Al-Sila town and Al-Fandaqumiya until 9 a.m.

In Qalqiliya, A 17-year-old minor was detained in Qalqiliya city after Israeli forces stormed the eastern entrance and deployed in the city market.

In Hebron, two Palestinians were detained following home raids and assaults in Hebron city and Abu al 'Asja village, southwest of the city. Israeli forces also set up multiple military checkpoints at city and village entrances, closing several main and secondary roads using metal gates, concrete blocks, and dirt barriers.
