Palestinian child killed by Israeli fire in Qabatiya south of Jenin

JENIN, December 20, 2025 (WAFA) — A Palestinian child was killed on Saturday evening after being shot by Israeli occupation forces in the town of Qabatiya, south of Jenin, in the northern occupied West Bank.

The Ministry of Health announced that 16-year-old Rayyan Mohammad Abu Mualla was killed by Israeli gunfire during an Israeli raid on the town.

Local sources said Israeli forces stormed Qabatiya and opened live fire directly at the child. They added that soldiers prevented Palestinian Red Crescent ambulance crews from reaching him, leaving him bleeding for an extended period before he died. Israeli forces later withheld his body.

Earlier on Saturday evening, 22-year-old Ahmad Zyoud from the town of Silat Al-Harithiya, west of Jenin, was also killed after being shot in the chest by Israeli forces during a separate raid.

With the killing of Zyoud and Abu Mualla, the number of Palestinians killed in Jenin since the start of the ongoing Israeli assault on the city and its refugee camp in January has risen to 62.
