Israeli forces close Beit Iksa checkpoint, disrupt movement northwest of Jerusalem

JERUSALEM, December 20, 2025 (WAFA) — Israeli occupation forces closed the Beit Iksa military checkpoint on Saturday evening, northwest of Jerusalem, blocking the movement of vehicles and residents in both directions.

Local sources told WAFA that Israeli soldiers tightened their measures at the checkpoint, harassed residents, and obstructed their movement, causing severe traffic congestion, particularly during the evening hours.

The closure led to significant delays for residents attempting to enter or leave the area, adding to ongoing hardships faced by the community.

Israeli authorities continue to impose strict restrictions on the village of Beit Iksa, effectively isolating it from its surroundings through the military checkpoint erected at its sole entrance.
