HEBRON, December 15, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces on Monday detained a Palestinian victim of a colonist assault in Masafer Yatta, south of the occupied West Bank city of Hebron, according to local sources.
They said that Israeli colonists, protected by occupation soldiers, broke into al-Rakiz hamlet, physically attacked an elderly Palestinian, and vandalized his dwelling along with a nearby fence.
The gun-toting soldiers rounded up the elderly man and transferred him to Susiya military camp, where he was held for hours before being eventually released.
The elderly man, identified as Saeed al-‘Amur, was rushed to Yatta Government Hospital for treatment.
Colonists’ violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.
Colonists’ violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes, among others.
Approximately 1 million Israeli colonists are living in colonies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem in violation of international law.
