BETHLEHEM, December 10, 2025 (WAFA) – A Palestinian prisoner has died behind Israeli jails, official sources confirmed.
The Palestinian General Authority for Civil Affairs informed the Palestinian Detainees' Affairs Commission and the Palestinian Prisoners' Society on Wednesday of the death of detainee Abdul Rahman Sufian Muhammad al-Sabateen, 21, from the town of Husan, west of Bethlehem, at Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem.
Al-Sabateen had been detained since June 24, 2025, and remained in detention until his death.
With Al-Sabateen's death, the number of deaths among prisoners and detainees in the occupation prisons since October 2023 rises to 85, and this is only the number whose identities are known.
This number is the highest historically, making this stage the most bloody stage in the history of the prisoner movement since 1967, bringing the number of slain prisoners whose identities are known since 1967 to 322, noting that there are dozens of them from Gaza detainees under enforced disappearance.
