HEBRON, December 5, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists on Friday assaulted Palestinian farmers in Tal Ma'in, east of Yatta city, south of the occupied West Bank city of Hebron, according to local sources.
Local anti-settlement activist Osama Makhamreh said that colonists broke into the Palestinian community, chased and cursed shepherds and farmers, and prevented them from ploughing their lands.
The assailants, who came from the colonial outposts of Mitzpe Yair and Avigayil, attempted to run over several children while the latter were playing in the vicinity of a Palestinian’s dwelling in Masafer Yatta.
Located in Area C of the West Bank, under full Israeli administrative and military control, the area has been subjected to repeated Israeli violations by settlers and soldiers targeting their main source of living - livestock.
It has been designated as a closed Israeli military zone for training since the 1980s and accordingly referred to as Firing Zone 918.
Israeli violations against the area include the demolition of animal barns, homes, and residential structures. The issuance of construction permits by Israel to local Palestinians in the area is nonexistent.
