Palestinian Presidency hails UN General Assembly vote as victory for Palestinian rights

RAMALLAH, December 3, 2025 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Presidency welcomed the vote of 151 countries in favor of the UN General Assembly resolution calling for a peaceful resolution of the Palestinian question, an end to the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territory occupied since 1967, including East Jerusalem, and the realization of the Palestinian people’s inalienable rights, foremost among them their right to self-determination and the establishment of their independent state.

The Presidency described the vote as a victory for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and a reflection of the international consensus on the necessity of establishing a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Palestinian Presidency Spokesperson Nabil Abu Rudeineh said that this resolution sends a clear message to the US administration and the occupation that without the establishment of a Palestinian state in accordance with international law, there will be no security, stability, or prosperity in the region.

He added, "We reiterate that the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem are one indivisible unit, which is the deepest foundation for achieving peace in the region and the world."

"We highly value this unwavering international consensus in support of justice and in support of preserving the rights, freedom, and independence of the Palestinian people in their Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital."
