Despite ceasefire, Gaza death toll continues to rise, reaching 70,112 since October 2023

GAZA, December 1, 2025 (WAFA) – Although a ceasefire in Gaza went into effect on October 11, the death toll in the Gaza Strip has continued to rise, reaching 70,112, the majority of whom were women and children, since the beginning of the Israeli aggression in October 2023. At least 170,986 others have also been injured.

This toll remains incomplete, as many victims remain trapped under rubble, inaccessible to ambulance and rescue crews.

Medical sources said that during the past 24 hours, nine bodies were brought to hospitals in Gaza after being recovered from under the rubble, along with one injured person.

Since the ceasefire went into effect on October 11, the number of those killed and injured has reached 356 and 909, respectively. At least 616 bodies have also been recovered.
