Israeli forces hinder movement at Beit Iksa checkpoint near Jerusalem, severe traffic jam reported

JERUSALEM, November 30, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces on Sunday evening held dozens of vehicles at the Beit Iksa checkpoint, northwest of Jerusalem, causing a severe traffic jam and delaying citizens for hours as they attempted to enter or leave the village.

Eyewitnesses said Israeli soldiers stopped vehicles, seized the IDs of their passengers, and obstructed traffic, in a measure that adds to longstanding restrictions on Beit Iksa residents, who have lived under a tight siege for years.

The measure comes as part of an ongoing policy targeting besieged villages northwest of Jerusalem through intensified checkpoints and restrictions on residents’ movement, further aggravating daily hardships and impeding access to workplaces and basic services.
