Colonists plow Palestinian lands in Sinjil as part of takeover plans

RAMALLAH, November 30, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists plowed sections of farmland on Sunday near the town of Sinjil, located northeast of Ramallah, in what appears to be an effort to assert control over the land, according to local sources.

Mohammad Ghafri, a local activist, told WAFA that colonists brought a tractor onto land owned by residents in the Al-Ma'rashiya plain in the northern part of the town and began plowing it, signaling their intention to ultimately take over the property.

Ghafri explained that landowners have been barred from accessing their land since October 2023, after Israeli authorities declared it a military zone. The farmland lies just 200 meters from residential homes.

The total area of agricultural land north of Sinjil is estimated at 8,000 dunams, which Palestinians are prevented from entering under the pretext of military restrictions.
