Residents of Halhul village organize protest against colonists’ seizure of town lands

Hebron, Nov. 20, 2025 (WAFA) – Residents of the town of Halhul, north of Hebron, organized a peaceful protest on Thursday against the takeover of part of the town’s lands by members of the colonial settler group known as “Hilltop Youth,” who had recently set up tents on the site.

Doens of residents and farmers participated in the protest, held in the Wadi Qaboun area southeast of the town, along with representatives of national and community organizations.

Jihad Abu Asba, the mayor of Halhul, told WAFA that the protest was organized to voice opposition to the colonial settlement policies pursued by the occupation and settler groups, and to confront the actions of the so-called “Hilltop Youth,” who seized citizens’ in the targted area, erected tents, and brought in sheep and livestock in an attempt to establish a new settlement outpost

He added that colonists are seeking to seize more than 2,000 dunums of the town’s land in that area. They also prevent residents and farmers from accessing their lands and fields, anad assault them and their property on a daily basis. The latest attack occurred yesterday, when a man, his wife, and their son were injured after being attacked by a colonist

Large areas of fields and grape vineyards in the area were also destroyed and damaged.
