JERUSALEM, November 20, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli authorities distributed 40 demolition and stop-work orders in the Wadi al-Hummus neighborhood, southeast of Jerusalem.
The Jerusalem Governorate said that the notices were distributed over the past two days, constituting a dangerous and deliberate escalation that falls within a systematic policy of uprooting Palestinians from their land.
According to the statement, Israeli authorities delivered 30 demolition orders for buildings located outside the separation wall, despite the fact that they lie in Area A and hold official Palestinian permits.
Today, another four demolition orders were distributed inside the wall in Areas A and B, in addition to six stop-work orders in Area C.
The Governorate emphasized that this escalation comes within Israeli's intention to seize control over vital areas in Wadi al-Hummus, an area spanning 4,500 dunams. Israeli authorities have already seized 2,000 dunams within the wall, while the remaining areas remain outside its direct control.
Israel has also imposed a 250-meter-deep buffer zone on both sides of the wall, labeling it a "buffer zone," which it then uses as a pretext for issuing demolition orders and legitimizing the demolition of Palestinian homes. The occupation bases this on a military order issued in 2011 and reactivated in 2015, providing a false legal cover for successive waves of demolitions and evictions.
