Israeli forces detain 56 Palestinians in Hebron, including two women, amid widespread raids and abuse

HEBRON, November 20, 2025 (WAFA) –  Israeli forces detained 56 Palestinians, including two women, from Hebron governorate on Thursday. Most prominently the town of Beit Ummar, north of Hebron, and the arrests were accompanied by acts of harassment against the town's residents.

Security sources told WAFA that Israeli forces raided the Wadi al-Hariya and Khirbet Qalqas areas south of Hebron city, where they detained ten Palestinians.

Meanwhile, four Palestinians were detained in Israeli military incursion of the towns of Deir Samet and al-Burj, west of Hebron. The soldiers further broke into multiple homes and ransacked their contents.

In the northern town of Beit Ummar, Israeli troops launched a second consecutive day of mass detentions and raids targeting most of the town's homes, turning many into military outposts.

These raids were accompanied by acts of abuse against residents and the deliberate destruction of their property and belongings, after the occupation forces imposed a tight siege on the town, declaring it a closed military zone and sealing off all entrances and exits, thus preventing the movement of residents.

The arrest and detention operation affected more than 40 citizens, including two women, who were held in the town's stadium.
