Israeli forces demolish Palestinian home in Jerusalem

RAMALLAH, November 12, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli forces demolished on Wednesday a house in the Silwan neighborhood, south of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Local sources said crews from the Israeli municipality carried out the demolition manually of the home belonging to Musa Badran in the Al-Bustan neighborhood of Silwan, south of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, after he had begun demolishing it himself a few days earlier to avoid heavy fines.

A week prior, Israeli authorities had forced Badran to demolish his own home in the Al-Bustan neighborhood of Silwan, south of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, as part of their policy aimed at displacing Palestinians and Judaizing Jerusalem neighborhoods.

The house is located in an area subject to constant pressure from Israeli authorities, who frequently issue demolition orders under the pretext of building without a permit. Meanwhile, Palestinians in Jerusalem face extreme difficulty in obtaining building permits within occupied Jerusalem.

The demolition of Badran's house comes amid a surge in demolitions carried out by Israeli authorities in Jerusalem, with reports indicating that 93 buildings have been demolished in the city by the end of May, including 53 homes.

Meanwhile, over 623 homes and structures have been destroyed in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, since the beginning of the year, as part of a campaign aimed at displacing Palestinians and imposing Israeli control.

The house demolitions in the al-Bustan neighborhood represent a continuation of the policy of ethnic cleansing and pressure on Palestinian residents, exacerbating the daily suffering and worsen the housing crisis in the holy city.
