JORDAN VALLEY, November 10, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli forces obstructed the movement of Palestinian teachers to schools in the Jordan Valley on Monday, preventing them from reaching their destinations through the Hamra and Tayasir military checkpoints.
Azmi Balawneh, Director of Education for the Tubas and Northern Jordan Valley Governorate, said that dozens of teachers were forced to wait for extended hours hours as Israeli soldiers kept both checkpoints closed.
The educational process in the Jordan Valley is frequently disrupted by Israeli ongoing restrictions against teachers and tightening of access routes, including frequent checkpoint closures.
The toll of checkpoints and iron gates erected by the Israeli army in the West Bank has reached 898, including 18 gates erected since the beginning of 2025 and 146 gates erected after October 7, 2023, according to data from the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission.
