BETHLEHEM, November 6, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation authorities on Thursday notified Palestinian residents of their intention to seize lands in the town of al-Khader and the nearby village of Khirbet Zakaria, south of Bethlehem.
Ahmad Salah, head of the al-Khader municipal council, told local reporters that the Israeli military issued a notice of intent to take control over lands in the village, covering an area of up to 14 dunums. The notification, posted on an electricity pole near the targeted lands, gives residents seven days to file objections.
Mohammad Attallah, head of the Khirbet Zakaria village council, said the occupation authorities issued a similar notice for lands on the outskirts of the village, though the exact area was not specified.
Such notifications are part of a long-standing Israeli policy of land confiscation across the West Bank. Palestinian landowners frequently receive similar notices, often citing military or settlement-related purposes.
These measures have led to the loss of agricultural lands, restricted access for farmers, and the displacement of communities, while settlements and outposts continue to expand on the expropriated territory.
