Occupation authorities force Jerusalemite to demolish his home in East Jerusalem neighborhood of Al-Bustan

JERUSALEM, November 5, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation authorities on Wednesday forced a Jerusalemite citizen to demolish his home in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Al-Bustan, as part of their policy aimed at displacing residents and Judaizing Jerusalem neighborhoods.

WAFA correspondent said that the house is situated in an area that has long faced ongoing pressure from the occupation authorities, which routinely issue demolition orders under the pretext of unlicensed construction, while Palestinians encounter severe obstacles in securing building permits in occupied Jerusalem. The house belongs to Jerusalemite resident, Mousa Badran.

The demolition of Badran’s home comes amid an escalation in demolition operations carried out by the occupation authorities in Jerusalem since the beginning of the year. Statistics indicate that 93 structures have been demolished in the city as of the end of May, including 53 homes.

Other reports showed that more than 623 homes and facilities have been destroyed across the occupied Palestinian Territory, including Jerusalem, since the beginning of the year, as part of a campaign aimed at displacing Palestinians and consolidating Israeli control.

Residents of the Al-Bustan neighborhood affirmed that these demolitions constitute a continuation of the policy of population displacement and increasing pressure on Palestinian residents, emphasizing that such measures further exacerbate their daily suffering and deepen the housing crisis in the Holy City.
