RAMALLAH, November 4, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli forces and colonists attacked on Tuesday Palestinian olive harvesters in the town of al-Khader, south of Bethlehem,
Talha Da’dou’ told WAFA correspondent that Israeli soldiers and colonists attacked him and his family as they were heading to their land in the Ein al-Qassis area, west of the town, to harvest olives.
The colonists assaulted him with rifle butts and their fists, detained his wife and daughter, and then forced them at gunpoint to leave their land.
Da’dou’ added that the attack didn’t end there. Israeli soldiers and colonists pursued them as they left, harassing and provoking them, and threatened them with arrest if they returned to their land.
According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, the Israeli army and settlers have carried out a total of 259 attacks against Palestinian olive harvesters since the start of the season in the first week of October until the 28th of the same month.
Sixty-three cases of restricting movement and intimidation of olive pickers were recorded this season, in addition to 44 cases of beatings and assaults against farmers.
During the annual olive harvest season, Palestinian lands are subjected to repeated attacks by colonists and the Israeli army. Farmers constantly face attacks and violations that prevent them from accessing their lands, leading to significant financial losses and exacerbating their daily suffering under the occupation.
This season, olive groves have been subjected to 125 attacks, including 46 incidents of cutting, breaking, and bulldozing olive trees, resulting in the destruction of a total of 1,070 olive trees. These attacks have escalated since the 2022 season, starting with 136 attacks, rising to 333 in 2023, reaching 407 in 2024, and 259 so far. This clearly demonstrates the extent of the targeting of Palestinian farmers.
